The 2024 town sale date has been set for Saturday, August 3rd from 9AM-4PM. All residents in New Lexington are encouraged to dust off their treasures, clean out their closets, and set up a yard/garage sale on their property! This date is set for rain or shine.

Perry County Children’s Services is accepting donations of hygiene items for children and young adults entering foster care. City Hall at 215 S. Main St. is just one of the many locations items may be dropped off at. Lobby hours at City Hall are 8AM-4PM Monday through Friday.

A heat wave is expected this week as the first official day of summer approaches. Follow these tips to stay safe during the extrememe temperatures:
1. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!💧: Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you’re not thirsty.
2. Seek Shade and Cool Places🌳: Stay indoors during peak heat hours (10 AM – 4 PM) and find air-conditioned spaces if possible.
3. Wear Light Clothing👕: Choose loose, light-colored clothing to help keep your body cool.
4. Use Sunscreen🧴: Apply broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
5. Limit Strenuous Activities🏃♂️: Avoid heavy exercise during the hottest part of the day.
6. Check on Vulnerable Neighbors🏠: Make sure the elderly, young children, and pets are keeping cool and hydrated.
7. Cool Showers and Baths🚿: Take cool showers or baths to lower your body temperature.
8. Eat Light🍉: Opt for light, easy-to-digest foods like fruits and vegetables.
